Key Achievements

• Member of TAPA since 1999
• Board member for 6 years (including 3 years as Vice chair and 1 year as acting chair)
• Involved in training of external auditors to enable them to undertake TAPA Freight Security Requirements (FSR) audits
• Over a six year period carried out 2 day TAPA member training workshops on TAPA FSR and TSR (Truck Security Requirements) Audit planning, preparation and a participation.

• Managed and made the TNT UK control room into a UK Market leader in 3rd party Remote Visual monitoring - with 2 other companies we received the first UK URN (Unique Reference Numbers) from the Police for our monitored and controlled sites
• Designed, launched and managed the first Industry security programme offering features above the normal freight transit requirements. The "Enhanced Security Programme" (ESP) was launched in May 1999 and is still in use today
• On secondment over a six month period certified to TAPA FSR all TNT Key South East Asia key locations
• Trained the first group of external auditors to carry out TAPA FSR Audits
• Worked on a European Commission working group to produce the first Secure parking standard ever in Europe
• On behalf of TAPA lobbied the U.N and after successful discussions spoke at the U.N in Geneva at the United Nations Economic Council Europe (UNECE) about the adverse effects on Eastern European economic growth of supply chain security crimes (Hijacks, thefts in transit etc)
• In my time on the TAPA board, I oversaw changes in our conference set up putting us on a professional and commercial structure, I.e sponsors , exhibitors, annual awards, workshops to name a few areas
• Managed and released Panalpina's first Electronic on line driver training programme for external third party subcontractors
• Managed and undertook "random" security equipment audits on Panalpina subcontractors in Europe who were working for them on Key High value/risk global accounts
